Bill McDermott is well known for his love for his wife and family. He married Julie on April 21, 1991. He shares two sons with her.
He had been open about his life struggles since he was a child. Yet, despite the challenges, he has never given up, which is why he is where he is today.
One of his tough times was during the six months he was employed with Xerox. His spouse battled breast cancer. Fortunately, she was able to survive the illness.
But a while later, his mother passed away from pancreatic cancer. Because his family members had to suffer from severe illnesses, he started to assist those whose lives had been adversely affected by the fatal disease.
He established The Kathleen McDermott Foundation as a philanthropic foundation to research new therapies for the disease that killed his mother.
