Chris Cato is an American journalist serving as an anchor at the FOX 13 11 p.m. news alongside Cynthia Smoot. He also reports stories as well as an anchor in another newscast as needed.
His career actually began in Florida, at WMBB in Panama City! he will never forget anchoring 12 straight hours of coverage during Hurricane Ivan in the year 2004, “The Year of the Hurricane” in Florida.
Chris left WMBB in the year 2005 to work at WSPA in Greenville-Spartanburg, South Carolina. He covered a lot of major stories during his time there, everything from a serial killer to an affair in the governor’s office, but my most fulfilling moment came through some investigative work.
During his three years in Philly, Chris reported live from the scenes of various memorable national stories including Hurricane Sandy’s destruction, the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Connecticut as well as Pope Francis’s historic U.S. visit. Also, Cato traveled to the Vatican and Rome to file stories ahead of the pope’s visit.
