Colin Kaepernick had an impressive football career, but he was not picked up by any Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams due to his small build.
At the start of his senior year, he was the leading college football player for rushing touchdowns. In December 2010, Kaepernick earned a bachelor’s degree in business management.
After signing a $126 million contract with the 49ers in 2014, the team did not make the playoffs the following season. In 2016, Kaepernick has voted the “most disliked” NFL player in a fan poll.
He also reported receiving death threats. Since opting out of his contract with the 49ers in 2017, he has been a free agent and joined many other athletes in a nationwide protest.
