Spencer Haywood is now residing in Las Vegas. Before, he was married to fashion model Iman from 1977 to 1987, with whom he had a daughter, Zulekha Haywood (born 1978). He again wedded in 1990 and has three daughters with his new wife, Linda.
He got into a drug addiction around the late 1970s. During the 1980 NBA Finals, he was dismissed from the Lakers by then-coach Paul Westhead because of his cocaine addiction, which caused him to fall asleep during training.
However, the former athlete later got himself free from the drugs. In September 2015, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall.
