Farah and Razid had met through a mutual friend. Prior to it, the two had attended a few of the same events but were unfamiliar with each other.

Following repeated meetings, the two fell in love and began dating in late 2007. 

In the summer of 2009, the pair ultimately decided to marry in a five-day Indian-style wedding.
