Raven Abaroa met and tied the knot with his new wife Vanessa Pond in the five years he evaded his arrest on the basis of his alibi. 

He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, with his son Kaiden. He enrolled his son in a daycare center where he met Vanessa, a single mother whose daughter also attended the same daycare.

Vanessa and Abaroa started spending time together and fell in love. She was aware that he was a widow and his first wife was murdered.

Janet’s sister also called her and informed her of Abaroa’s possible involvement in relation to her murder. But, he managed to convince Vanessa of his innocence and the two eventually got married in 2008. 

However, Abaroa’s behavior changed shortly into the marriage. Pond revealed he turned abusive towards her and the couple divorced four months after the marriage.
