Raoul Moat’s ex-girlfriend Samantha Stobbart was a trainee hairdresser at the time of the attack in 2010, reported The Sun. 

Stobbart and Moat dated each other for six years. They met through mutual friends when she was just sixteen years old. They had an age difference of fifteen years. 

The former couple shared a then-four-year-old daughter together. Her daughter must be in her teenage years by now. 

Moat had been in prison prior to the attack for assault. Ms. Stobbart started dating karate instructor Chris Brown during that time as Moat was prone to violent behavior. 

She informed Moat of her new relationship while he was in prison. She apparently told him she was dating a policeman as she wanted him to leave her alone. 

However, it only sparked a feeling of vengeance in his heart against her. Moat was released two days before the attack. 

He was obsessed with the fact that Stobbart was dating a new man after him and held a deep grudge against her. On July 3rd, he first went to Stobbart’s new partner, Chris Brown, and shot him.

Brown died in the attack. Moments after, he went to Ms. Stobbart and shot her.
