Merrick Hanna began his first dance strokes back in 2014; when he was only 9. The lad began with robot-style dancing and with more videos he watched on YouTube, he began training himself in pop. Things took a whole new turn when he watched the Jabbawockeez on ABDC. Stung by the dancing bug, Hanna would begin uploading videos on youtube showcasing his dancing skills to anyone who cared to watch. And many did.
Now gaining traction, he began participating n TV shows and in local dancing competitions, including the Nickelodeon-aired reality television show, ‘Lip Sync Battle Shorties’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation’. With eyes on the prize, he began taking shots at the biggest of them all; America Got Talents show. Although he tried unsuccessfully to gain entry into the tenth and eleventh seasons of the show, he never gave up.
Season 12 was finally his big break. Although he won the heart of the audience and even the judges on the show, he was eventually eliminated in the second week of the semifinals. He was last spotted dancing to Jon Bellion’s ‘iRobot (The Human Condition)’. But he couldn’t garner sufficient votes from the audience to take him to the finals.
Nevertheless, Merrick Hanna has succeeded in winning hearts across the united states. And by the time he got eliminated, he had a much bigger fan base than he started with. Shortly after season 12, he delved into acting and even appeared in the summer Shakespeare runs of Much Ado About Nothing and A Winter’s Tale. More so, Hanna also made an appearance on one of the episodes of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
Although active on social media, the biggest of Hanna’s platforms have been YouTube where he has over 250k subscribers and millions of views on his content. The eponymous YouTube channel has been running since August 2015 and features his dancing videos. Most of which have gone viral a couple of times, not only on YouTube but also on Facebook and Instagram. On his Instagram account, he regularly posts videos and pictures of his performances with his fans. As of 2019, the handle has over 700k followers. On his Facebook page, he has over 65k followers,
He’s also performed on major events such as the annual entertainment showcase YouTube Onstage, in Anaheim, California. Asides his dancing and acting careers, Merrick Hanna is also a model and have styled for several big brands such as H&M, Honda, Kids and lots more. Little wonder he commands so much on his net worth.
