Jenny Likens was the younger sister of Sylvia Likens, who was tormented and killed by her parental figure, Gertrude Baniszewski.
Amid this, jenny was the fourth of five children (Dianna, Daniel, Sylvia, Jenny, and Benny). It is also believed that Jenny suffered from polio, due to which she had to wear a steel brace on one of her legs.
By June 1965, both of the sisters resided with their parents in Indianapolis. Later, their mother was jailed for shoplifting on July 3.
Shortly thereafter, their father, Lester, handed over the care for his daughter to Gertrude until his return but was tormented and abused by their caregiver.
