David Archuleta grew up in Miami, Florida, with his parents Lupe Marie Mayorga and Jeff Archuleta. He comes from a mixed ethnicity background as his dad is of German, Irish, Spanish, and Danish descent, and his mom is from Honduras. 

Archuleta’s father, Jeff, is a jazz musician, whereas his mother, Mayorga, is a salsa singer and dancer. He speaks fluent Spanish, and his family is of Basque origin. The American Idol singer has four siblings, jazzy, Amber, Daniel, and Claudia. 

When he was around six, his family moved to Salt Lake City, Sandy, Utah.
