While on leave from the nation, it is reported that Sultan Muhammad V married former beauty pageant participant Oksana Voevodina in Barvikha, Russia, in late November 2018.
On the other hand, the reported marriage in Moscow was a party to allow Oksana Voevodina’s friends and family to celebrate the couple’s wedding. Their official Islamic wedding took place privately on June 7, 2018, in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia.
Oksana converted to Islam in April 2018, before their wedding. In Russia, however, there is no formal marriage record.
In 2015, Voevodina was crowned Miss Moscow. According to media reports, Tengku Ismail Leon Petra ibni Sultan Muhammad V was born on May 21, 2019.
Similarly, after the baby’s birth, Sultan divorced Oksana by a “Talak Tiga” or talaq baayin after submitting paperwork at the Singapore Syariah Court on 22 June 2019.
Talak Tiga is the irreversible divorce and most severe divorce in Islam. On September 6, he finally admitted that the marriage did take place.
