The rapper stated on Instagram that Tai, his and Adjua’s 20-year-old daughter, committed suicide.
Styles stated on July 26, 2015, “I rarely speak on my personal concerns and I generally convey my agony through music, but today I will share with you a bit.”
Two years later, Styles and Adjua boldly recounted Tai’s suicide in a wrenching interview on “The Breakfast Club.”
“The “Good Times” singer, who was legally Tai’s stepfather, stated, “If we knew she was depressed, she would’ve been home or with us.” Some individuals won’t tell you about certain things, so you can’t see them.
The distraught parents claimed that Tai had been working hard to fill the vacuum left in her life by her absent biological father. Watching the teenager work through her complex emotions “ate me up because I couldn’t stop the anguish,” Styles recalled.
The co-founder of D-Block Records and his wife discussed how the suicide affected their relationship during a 2018 interview on OWN’s Black Love docuseries. Adjua admitted that her daughter’s demise has completely changed the dynamic of their marriage.
