David Croft’s family is originally from Sheffield, England.
Croft hasn’t revealed his mother and father’s names in the public until now because he prefers to keep his personal life private.
The Stevenage native began his career at Radio Fairfield, where he worked in hospital radio.
For three years, he worked for BBC Three Counties as a sports reporter and as Sports Editor.
In 1998, he joined BBC Radio 5 Live, where he hosted Saturday Sport from 2004 to 2005.
Croft also covered the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the Athens Summer Olympics in 2004.
David must have been well compensated around this period because he was covering numerous major events.
