Henry Robinson, 56, was a retired electronics technician and father of four living in Hamilton, Georgia. He was found dead in a tub at the back of his house on March 23, 2003. Police responded that he was fired sixteen times with a rifle, 15 times in the head, and was left submerged in water that afternoon.
Philomena Fogarty, a nun of Irish origin, previously worked as a missionary in Japan and had been in Hamilton for about 16 years. The neighborhood regarded her as a good person since she was always willing to lend a hand.
Robinson went three miles to a local church after killing his father, where he broke into the mobile homes of Sisters Philomena Fogarty, 64, and Luci Kristofik, 72. He took $900 for himself, shackled and gagged the two nuns, then drove them 600 miles to Norfolk, Virginia, in their automobile.
Philomena and another nun, Lucie Kristofik, were kidnapped from their house and carried to Virginia on the day Henry passed away. A security officer located Philomena’s dismembered remains in a Virginia Beach parking lot on March 26. Her hands, feet, and head were severed as they were cut off. Lucie managed to flee unharmed and let the police know where she was.
On March 27, 2003, the police were able to make an arrest. Adrian Robinson, 25, was the perpetrator of the killings and the kidnapping and the son of Henry. Family members claimed that he accused Henry of sexually assaulting him before shooting him in the joint residence on the day of the incident. Adrian then ran into the woods behind his house and came to the place of the nuns.
Later, Lucie revealed to the detectives that Adrian had already entered the house when she and Philomena arrived. He stole their cash, gagged and shackled them, and drove their automobile 570 miles to Virginia. They were taken to a motel in Norfolk by Adrian. About two days after Adrian and Philomena left, Lucie, who was unharmed, dialed the police.
Shortly after, Philomena’s body in a sleeping bag was found in the parking lot of an office building. A worker at a fast-food restaurant recognized Adrian from the news and triggered the silent alarm less than a day later, leading to Adrian’s arrest. A four-day criminal spree resulted in two persons’ deaths, and severe trauma for one other person ended.
