On January 7, 2022, during a game at Brunswick School, Teddy Balkind was pronounced dead after sustaining an injury from an ice collision. 

Though he was taken to emergency care, the injuries were too severe, which led to his immediate death.

Amid this, Thomas Philip, the head of Brunswick School, released a statement to News 8 referring to how devastated and unimaginable tragedy took place, also mentioned providing help and supports to his family during these difficult times. 

As of now, no statements have been released from the St. Luke’s school.
