Craig Crimmins has been applying for parole since 2000, where he had applied for his last parole in May 2014. He applied eight times for parole, where he got denied each time since 2000. 

According to his statement, he had lost his hope of being released from jail, where he has served more than thirty-five years in prison on twenty years of a life sentence for murder.
