The video of how Amare Stoudemire got an eye injury is not available on the internet. However, ESPN reported that the season of 2008-09 with the Suns will be remembered as “The Extended Eye Exam” for the player.
During training camp, Boris Diaw, his teammate, poked him in the right eye on October 1, 2008. As a result, he suffered a partially torn iris. Fortunately, he was able to recuperate in time for the opening night.
However, on February 18, 2009, against the Clippers, while Stoudemire was having his finest game of the year, he was poked in the same eye by Clippers’ player Al Thornton for the second time.
But the second incident caused some negative results. Hence, he had to miss the rest of the season due to a partly detached retina.
