Vaughn and Marquis don’t appear to be connected, however, they do share a love of baseball. As they disclosed their last name, fans became perplexed.
Vaughn, a rookie taken in the 11th round of the 2019 draft, has conquered the minor league ladder quickly.
The Braves revealed on Wednesday that they have reinstated right-hander Kirby Yates from the 60-day injured list and picked the contract of top infield prospect Vaughn from Double-A Mississippi.
Marquis, on the other hand, played both outfield and pitcher for Florida A&M University’s baseball team. He played with the Rattlers for two seasons (1987 and 1988).
In 1991 and 1992, he was the National League’s top stealer. He also played on the NL All-Star team in 1993 and 1994 and won four straight Gold Gloves, the first one coming in 1993.
Marquis and his wife Sharron are residents of Sandy Springs and Fayetteville, Georgia. Micah, D’monte, Tiana, Marquis, Jr., and Gabriella are his five children.
The Washington Nationals selected Marquis Jr. in the thirteenth round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
He has been a baseball icon since the early 1990s, but Vaughn has recently taken the sport by storm. After a 17-year career, Grissom retired on March 28, 2006.
In 2009 year, he was appointed to serve as the Washington Nationals’ first base coach.
