American mixed martial artist Don’Tale O’Neil Mayes participates in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Heavyweight division. He won the state judo championships in Indiana and Kansas.
At UFC Fight Night: Maia vs Askren on October 26, 2019, Mayes made his UFC debut against Ciryl Gane. Unfortunately, a heel hook caused him to lose the fight in the third round.
Mayes, raised and born in Kentucky, started learning martial arts to control his anger. He began by learning judo before branching out to other sports.
On March 20, 2021, Mayes was slated to compete against Tai Tuivasa at Brunson vs Holland: UFC on ESPN. Nevertheless, Mayes was taken out of the fight during the week before the event for an unspecified cause.
On December 18, 2021, Mayes competed against Josh Parisian at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Daukaus. In the third round, he used elbows from the crucifix position to TKO the opponent.
