Steven is the son the last son of Rosemary Johnson and late Frank J. Rinella. He grew with his two elder brothers named Daniel Rinella and Matthew Rinella. Matthew is said to be a professional hunter that Steven once described him as an unstoppable force on the hunting ground while Daniel’s fishing skills is more adventurous. His two elder brothers appeared in the second season of MeatEater: Mount Hunting. Their hunting skills were said to be from their late father, Frank who taught his sons several techniques for hunting and fishing right from their tender age. Sadly, Frank J. Rinella passed on in 2002.
Steven is married to Catherine Parlette Finch whom he met while marketing his first book. They started dating officially in 2006 and wedded two years later, precisely on July 12, 2008, in Fennville, Michigan. Together, they have three children.
Catherine Parlette who was born in 1979 is the daughter of Cynthia and Terry Stewart. She is an alumna of Colorado College and she works as a Director of Publicity at the book division of the Weinstein Company.
