Sophia Hetrick was last seen wearing pink headphones, a pink top and white shorts on October 22, 2023. Hetrick is reported by the family to be a high-functioning autistic special needs child.
She went missing while hiking with her family in the Loop Recreation area. Union County police said it’s working with multiple public safety agencies to locate the missing girl.
Social media posts in the community advise people in the area to check sheds and open garages, as Sophia has hidden from searchers in these places in the past.
Search crews have stated that first responders will be visibly walking through yards and wooded areas during the night until she is found.
