American actress Taissa Farmiga, who was born on August 17, 1994, has earned the moniker “scream queen” thanks to her work in horror movies. She is the younger sister of actress Vera Farmiga and was born in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.
Farmiga initially intended to pursue a profession in accountancy. She was persuaded to take a role in the drama movie Higher Ground, which was also directed by her sister Vera. Taissa was chosen to play Corinne Walker, the movie’s primary role when she was 16 years old.
The talent agency ICM Partners signed Taissa after the movie’s 2011 Sundance Film Festival premiere, where she got outstanding plaudits for her performance.
Due to her role in the inaugural season of American Horror Story on FX, Farmiga became a household name in the same year. She took on the role of Violet Harmon, the problematic adolescent daughter of Vivien and Ben Harmon, who were alternately portrayed by Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott.
During her first professional acting audition, Taissa landed the part of Violet Harmon. She also made an appearance in The Bling Ring, a crime satire movie by Sofia Coppola based on a real-life group of the same name.
She portrayed the rebellious 17-year-old Sam Moore in the film. The movie had its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival and was well-received.
