In 2011 riots began to break out in Liverpool. Nathan spoke about these issues in a Facebook post where he objected to the media’s portrayal of the rioters. Unfortunately, the post was noticed by authorities.
He was arrested by police, and charged with encouraging violence and looting. Nathan chose to plead not guilty and this resulted in him serving a 20-month jail sentence.
