As a director, Michael Masi’s salary was $51,070 per year.
Many have refused to believe the 51k salary for the director of one of the most prominent Motorsport organizations.
Masi earned more than that, estimated at around $1-5 million per year depending upon events organized.
Masi began his racing career as a volunteer for Super Touring teams while still in high school.
He served as deputy race director in the Supercars touring car racing series and at Rally Australia.
In 2018, Micheal was appointed by the FIA as Formula Two and Formula Three deputy race director and F1 race director Charlie Whiting’s deputy.
Masi shared this duty between Grands Prix with Scott Elkins, the race director for Formula E, and the German Touring Car Championship.
On Thursday, new FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem confirmed Masi’s resign as director after three years.
He also revealed changes to how the Grand Prix would be officiated for the coming season.
