The Farina family was in serious financial trouble as a result of increasing medical expenses as a result of Shawna’s being diagnosed with cancer.
It came to a point where they did not even have enough money for the necessary renovations to the house where they lived.
Her spouse, Steve, and their three children were featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to ask for help.
So, the Extreme Makeover crew collaborated with EMC (Environmental Management Consultants) and various contractors to build a home for them for the Farina family.
