No, Baylor Cupp and Cooper Kupp are not related to each other by blood or any means.
Due to injuries that kept Baylor out of his first two seasons of collegiate football at Texas A&M, Baylor Cupp’s career never took off as planned.
In November, Jimbo Fisher, the A&M coach, stated that Cupp “still has the potential to be a great player.” Texas Tech is now trying to get the best out of the former top-100 national prospect.
Cupp, a 6-foot-7, 253-pound tight end from Brock, declared his commitment to the Red Raiders on his Instagram account on Tuesday. Later, Tech proclaimed that he had signed a scholarship contract.
The Rams took Cooper Kupp in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He was an Eastern Washington collegiate football player who won the Walter Payton Award as a junior.
After the AFL-NFL merger, Kupp, who had a breakthrough year in 2021, became the fourth player to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions. Cooper won the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was named the MVP of Super Bowl LVI.
