Maria Regan Gonzalez has her parents and a brother in her family. She grew up in two different worlds. Her full-time home was Janesville, Wisconsin, whereas her mother’s native was from one of the poorest parts of Mexico named native Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl.
It was wracked with gang violence and had no running water. Nevertheless, her family would frequently visit the place to help the victims of domestic violence and their children, writes Minnesota Women’s Press.
Thus, her parents had taught her to become someone who can serve others as everyone does not get equal opportunities in life.
