She comes from a family of entertainers. She has five siblings and they were all born to Helen Travolta (born as Helen Cecilia Burke) and her husband Salvatore/Samuel J. Travolta. Helen was an actress and dancer of Irish ancestry while Samuel J. Travolta was a tire repair shop owner of Italian descent.

Margaret’s siblings are Joey Travolta, Ellen Travolta, Ann Travolta, Sam Travolta, and John Travolta. They grew up in Englewood, New Jersey in a house that was predominantly Irish in culture. All the Travoltas were inspired by their mother’s love of theatre and drama, hence, they got into acting.
