Lee Ji Han, a South Korean actor, and singer, were one of those killed in the Halloween stampede in Itaewon, South Korea, on Saturday night, according to his agency 935 Entertainment.
According to a spokesman of the agency, as reported by Soompi, “Lee Ji Han indeed died on October 29 as a result of the accident in Itaewon.”
“We were stunned to hear the news and hoped it wasn’t real. The family is going through a great deal of loss, so we are careful. The spokesman continued, “May he rest in peace.
In 2017, Lee Ji Han participated in the second season of Mnet’s “Produce 101.”
Then, in 2019, he started acting after being chosen for the web drama “Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day.”
Officials said that the Halloween stampede claimed the lives of more than 150 people, and South Korea’s president promised a thorough inquiry into one of the nation’s worst-ever tragedies.
As many as 100,000 individuals, largely in their teens and 20s, are thought to have attended the popular Itaewon district of the capital on Saturday night to celebrate Halloween, jamming the area’s winding streets and tight passageways.
President Yoon Suk-yeol announced a day of national mourning in a televised address, informing the public that “a tragedy and disaster occurred that should not have happened.”
The funeral service for the late Lee Jihan will take place on November 1 at the Myongji Hospital funeral parlor.
