Anthony Strangis’ father, John Strangis, is charged with scamming and fraud together with his ex-wife, Sarma Melngailis.
John worked as a mechanic before joining the Brockton Police Department, where he served for 25 years before retiring in 1989.
However, he preferred to gamble with his hard-earned money rather than providing a good environment for his kid to grow up in. And we may argue that Anthony inherited some of his characteristics.
According to his wife Patricia, John used to roll the dice with one hand while holding Anthony’s hand with the other.
When Strangis finally saw Melngailis in late 2011, his mother assumed he was living in a van with his father near the New Bedford docks, even though he stated he was staying with a friend.
Despite a brief breakup in early 2012, he quickly moved in with Melngailis. Despite the fact that Melngailis was never certain about the source of Strangis’ alleged income, she said he pledged to pay off all of her obligations.
