Rory McIlroy’s friend Niall O’Connor briefly served as the player’s bagman, and the two enjoyed great success, winning the RBC Canadian Open in 2022. However, this was not a long-term arrangement as Harry Diamond, Rory’s regular caddie, immediately re-entered the picture.
O’Connor, a close friend of McIlroy’s who first got to know him while a golfer was in his late teens, has caddied for him once previously, at the 2019 DP World Championship in Dubai. O’Connor is an avid golfer, to play elite rugby for Ulster.
Moving on, McIlroy utilized the TaylorMade Sim2 and Sim2 MAX drivers for the 2021 season, but he now prefers the more recent and improved Stealth Plus driver. And this driver is used by several other PGA Tour professionals, including Colin Morikawa and Tiger Woods.
