Lindsey Graham has never been married and has no wife or children. Graham’s bachelor’s status has sparked multiple speculations about his homosexuality. His single streak has fueled public assumptions about his sexuality, and the senator has long been plagued by gay rumours. After a key Republican opponent branded him “ambiguously gay”; Known as a moderate opponent of LGBT rights, Graham denied rumors about his sexuality. Lindsey, who believes being single later doesn’t make him a flawed person, addressed the gay rumors in an interview and stressed that he is NOT gay.
While the US Senator had a timely political career, he has yet to do so with his romantic life. In a 2015 self-published memoir, My Story , Graham revealed facts about his family and also opened up about his many failed romances as well as why he never tied the knot. According to Graham, timing was the reason he was never married. He explains that he hasn’t had any luck with marriage opportunities since he never found time to meet the right girl or the right girl was smart enough not to have time for him.
But Graham has had some interesting relationships in the past. While he was in law school, he dated a girl named Debbie. While serving in the Air Force in Europe, he had two other close relationships with a woman named Carol who was a JAG officer and a Lufthansa flight attendant named Sylvia whom he wanted to marry but never married. The relationship was cut short because Sylvia was returning to Vienna to be with her family and Graham, the boy from South Carolina, had to go home.
However, Graham is content with the family bond he shares with his younger sister, Darline Graham Nordone, whom he loves so much and considers his closest companion in life.
