Gilbert Baez is married to his wife Carolyn Joyner. The couple married in Mississippi at Brown Missionary Baptist Church. The WRAL Fayetteville Bureau Chief has been a part of WRAL-TV since the year 1998. Baez and Joyner got engaged in an event live-streamed on his WRAL Facebook page.
In a Facebook post, Baez noted that Joyner had worked at a hospital in Mississippi for 30 years, which is why the state was a special location for them both to get married. On Facebook, Baez said the timing of the marriage was perfect. Baez and his wife Joyner have five daughters, two grown sons, five young grandsons, and two wonderful granddaughters. He has a young godson, too. Tyler is his golf running buddy!
