From his previous marriage with Bente, Peter Schmeichel has a son Kasper Schmeichel and a daughter Cecilie Schmeichel.
Laura is Peter’s second wife, with whom he has two children: Cecilie, a blogger, and Kasper, a successful footballer who has played for Leicester City and the Denmark national team.
Schmeichel was born in the Gladsaxe parish of Sborggrd, Denmark, to Danish nurse Inger and Polish jazz musician Antoni Schmeichel.
He was born in Poland and retained Polish citizenship until 1970, when he, his father, and three sisters became Danish citizens.
Schmeichel’s middle name, Boleslaw, was given to him by his great-grandfather.
