Ernie Els is married to Liezl Els. He got married in the year 1998 in Cape Town. Their marriage is reported to have no problems at all. We can conclude they are happily married. They have two children, Ben Neels Els and Samantha Leigh Els.
Ben was slow to walk, talk, even crawl, he was a late bloomer through his parents, but they realized he took a lot of time to learn skills that kids his age did with ease. He even faced problems maintaining eye contact. He was different. Soon he was diagnosed with Autism.
According to Ernie Els’s wife, it was very hard for her husband to deal with the situation as he blamed himself for whatever happened to his son. In 2008 he was confident to go public about his son’s Autism.
Ernie Els and his wife, along with their children, are happy now, and they have formed The Els for Autism Foundation to raise funds and awareness about people who have Autism. It is a remarkable evolution about how Ernie Els dealt with the whole situation.
