A police officer Blake Shimanek filed a case after he assaulted his father Marco Puente. 

Dillon Puente was stopped for a traffic violation that his father was filming on his phone across the street. Shimanek was seen ordering Officer Antik Tomer to arrest the father and pepper spray him for filming the incident.

Shimanek claimed Puente obstructed a roadway, but an inquiry later revealed Puente did nothing wrong.

Keller Police Chief Brad Fortune later stated that the mistreatment of Puente and his kid caused disappointment and regret” among the department. The recordings sparked worldwide outrage.
