Suzanne Rogers was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an uncommon muscle condition, in 1984.
Her facial muscles were weakened by the disease, and the prescription prescribed by the doctors made her feel ill, causing her face to swell and her hair to fall out.
After 11 years on the show, she temporarily left due to the disease’s worsening effects.
Rogers recently had an accident in which she choked and passed out.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers, Rogers passed out after the EMTs put an oxygen mask on her.
She was surprised to see two weeks had passed when she awoke in the hospital. Rogers, of course, only wanted to leave the hospital because she was afraid of contracting COVID-19. Doctors advised her she required rehab at that point.
