Deron McBee first wife Drzan McBee was an actress, professional wrestler, and Raiderette. She passed away on March 20, 2003, at the age of 37.
Born in Los Angeles County, California, on December 11, 1965, Drzan was featured in the 2002 documentary Bodyslam! The Making of a Professional Wrestler.
The show followed several wrestling hopefuls dedicated to making it to the professional ranks.
The documentary begins by introducing former NFL cheerleader McBee alongside Big Jon Heidenreich, Mikey Henderson, and Chris Daniels, aka the Fallen Angel.
With varying levels of experience, all four hopefuls came to Ultimate Pro Wrestling to wrestle on the independent circuit. It is kind of a minor league to the WWF.
At the time, McBee was thriving as a wrestler and a mother of two. Her kids were often spotted cheering for their mom on the rings.
In an Exclusive Clip, McBee shared how she makes sure to talk to her girls when she turns mean and nasty in the show. She lets them know that it is just for the show.
“There may be some other beautiful moms out there who thought ‘Well I can never do that if I have kids.’ Well, sure you can,” she said in the clip.
“If you have a great husband like I have who is very supportive sure you can. Life doesn’t stop after you become a mom. I love my kids, and I would do anything for them but I am Drzan as well as mommy.”
In ESPN’s 30 for 30 “The American Gladiators Documentary” (2023), Deron talks about how his wife was training as a wrestler in California and was featured in the 2002 documentary.
He shared she passed away in 2003 following a complication after undergoing a liposuction surgery to remove 15 lbs, a surgery he noted she didn’t really need.
