Cillian married Yvonne McGuinness, his long-time girlfriend, in 2004. Malachy Murphy and Aran Murphy are his two sons with his wife.

Murphy’s children were born to parents who were both active in the performing arts and lived under the spotlight. Malachy and Aran’s mother is a visual artist with an impressive resume. Moreover, the actor is known for keeping his personal life secret, only posting snaps with his wife and children on rare occasions.

Additionally, Cillian and his wife, McGuinness, are both Irish, with Cillian being from Cork and Yvonne from Kilkenny, and after tying the knot the couple moved to London.

Although both of their children, Malachy, 16, and Aran, 14, were born in England, the couple decided to return to Ireland in 2015. The reason for this, according to Cillian in a new interview, is due to the accents of Aran and Malachy.
