Lynsie Ekelund’s missing case is finally solved after waiting for a decade. Investigators said she vanished in 2001 after going to San Diego with McAmis and two fellow Fullerton College students on Feb. 17, 2001.
McAmis was the person of interest from the beginning, but due to lack of evidence, police had to wait this long until they got strong evidence. He pleaded no guilty until 2010.
The 31-year-old Fullerton construction worker Chris McAmis was charged with her murder and sentenced to jail without bail. He confronted his crime after police showed up fresh evidence of ATM footage in front of him.
According to NBC News, it took nearly nine years to figure out what happened to Lynsie Ekelund, the expertise of a cold case investigator on the dateline, “The Evidence Whisperer,” Josh Mankiewicz reports.
