Trent Digiuro’s case took years to get solved, and the case update is now been profiled by NBC’s dateline.

Trent Digiuro died immediately after being shot by a .243 rifle.

Trent DiGiuro was supposed to be the starting offensive lineman for his college football team, the Kentucky Wildcats, in 1994.

However, DiGiuro was tragically murdered shortly before his senior season.

For years, no one knew who killed DiGiuro. Until the murderer’s ex-girlfriend spoke out.

The case became stalled once more, and six years later, the police received a call from a local attorney with information about the case.

According to the attorney, his client, Aimee Lloyd dated Shane Ragland, a 26-year-old computer programmer from Frankfort, Kentucky.

Aimee stated that she and Shane had been drinking at a bar and discussing the worst things they’d ever done. Shane, she claimed, confessed to shooting Trent.

Shane Ragland, the alleged murderer, also traveled to the United Kingdom.

According to NBC News, Ragland blamed the Kentucky football player for him “being blackballed from a fraternity.”

Evans then met with the woman to plan a sting operation.

According to NBC News, Ragland stated, “I regret it.”
