Chris was born on 1971, November 11 in Nicholasville, Kentucky. He started playing when he was a little boy. He, in the beginning, played for Jessamine Country High School. He also used to play at Taylor University. Later he graduated taking psychology major and did masters in Athletic Administration from Ball State.

The place where he grew had only basketball as a sport then. He adds the news used to be full of the basketball news he giggles and said in one of his interviews.

Chris always believed in hard work and patience. He first started working as an assistant coach at a different university and places. Before he was assigned as a head coach in 2017, June 9 in Ohio State University he spent lots of his year mentoring as an assistant coach to the players.

His wife Lori says that he has been through lots of highs and lows in his life but he never really expressed, rather sought out the best way and pursued his dream.
