After the murder of her boyfriend, Catherine claimed the life insurance policy under his name.

She took the $250,000 and moved to Lake Point Tower. She changed her identity and lived as Kasia Kane, a real estate agent. Fleeing her trial, Catherine moved to Hawaii and settled with a surfer boyfriend.

Suh was subsequently found, and  Cook County Criminal Court Judge John E. Morrissey sentenced her to life in prison.

Catherine is currently in jail and is serving a life term without parole.
