In 2015, Adam Ottavino and Brette Wolff tied the knot in California.
The tale of how the pair first became acquainted is an intriguing one. Even though Brette Wolff had given up on the idea of having a romantic romance like one from a fairy tale, she was still holding out hope that she would one day find her soul mate and be able to settle down.
Brette made a joke to her friend when they were brainstorming ideas for the impending birthday party for her friend’s son. She said she would help her friend organize parties for the next year if her friend set her up on a date with someone who was actually lovely.
It was this acquaintance that introduced her to Adam in the first place. On their date night, she immediately reacted to him when she saw him for the first time.
Years later, Brette was thrilled to say yes when Adam proposed to her at a private dinner at his apartment in New York City. They decided to have a party at the beginning of January 2015, shortly before Adam started spring training with the Colorado Rockies.
Brette and Adam chose to go the professional route when planning their wedding. When Brette learned about the celebrity-studded past of San Ysidro Ranch and subsequently visited the naturally gorgeous landscape, she was convinced that it would be the perfect setting for their wedding ceremony and reception.
They sent out 98 invites, all of which were gorgeous laser-cut wood invitations they had designed. Guests were welcomed to the event with lemonade served in glasses with pink sugar rims, butterfly paper straws, and handcrafted wands made from antique ribbons. The lemonade was served in glasses with butterfly paper straws.
In addition, the bride and the groom’s mother made yarmulkes that were hand-painted with butterflies and handed to the males in attendance. The space was adorned with a wooden plank aisle that accentuated a laser-cut decal to seem like a lace rug. Lanterns filled with moss, flowers, and silk butterflies were also used to beautify the area.
Overall, the couple’s wedding was the fairytale celebration anyone could have wished for.
