Sergey Medvedev is the son of Sergey Medvedev and Olga Medvedeva. Sergey Medvedev, his father, is a computer engineer who owns his civil engineering firm.
They planned to move to France when Olga was pregnant with him so that the future tennis prodigy could obtain European citizenship.
Medvedev’s father encouraged him to play tennis as he grew older but later advised him to pursue a career as a swimmer.
Medvedev went to a physics and math specialist school before graduating early and enrolling in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations to study economics and trade.
He later dropped out to focus on tennis.
