Big Time Rush and One Direction were tourmates in 2012. One Direction opened the tour for the pop band as an in-house record label mates.

Kendall unveiled that they weren’t happy with the fact that One Direction was opening for them. He stated that there were 2000 girls outside their show jamming to their songs although they were headlining the tour.

The founder of the band, Schmidt, also stated that they felt like being used by their record label to promote One Direction.  He also added that the only prime reason the two boy bands were together on a tour was that they were from the same record label.
