Anderson.Paak, currently 37, was born on February 8, 1986, in Oxnard, California. He grew up in a diverse and vibrant community, influenced by the sounds of hip-hop, soul, and funk surrounding him.
Anderson was born to a mother of Korean descent, whom an African-American family in Compton, California, adopted.
His father, presumed to have been a soldier, left when Anderson was just a child. Unfortunately, his early years were marked by a traumatic incident when he witnessed his estranged father attacking his mother. This event deeply impacted him and shaped his perspective on life.
Anderson.Paak attended Foothill Technology High School, where he discovered his passion for music. He began producing music from his bedroom as a teenager and also honed his skills as a drummer, often performing at his family’s church.
Despite facing hardships, Anderson remained focused on his education and graduated from high school.
