According to law enforcement officials, an NYPD cop trailed his wife and her young new lover to a hotel, where he fatally shot the man before murdering himself in a horrible love triangle gone wrong.
Officer Sean Armstead, 36, had followed wife Alexandra Vanderheyden and lover Edward Wilkins to a La Quinta Inn in upstate Wallkill, according to reports.
According to sources, Vanderheyden informed detectives that she believes Armstead tracked her down using her cell phone.
The couple was then forced out of the hotel by Armstead, according to sources, and the illicit lovers jumped into their car to flee, with the cop hot on their pursuit.
The cuckolded husband allegedly slammed into their car outside a Buffalo Wild Wings near the intersection of Route 211 East and Tower Drive, according to sources.
According to reports, Wilkins then exited the couple’s car and fled, but Armstead chased him down and fired 16 shots at him.
According to reports, the younger man was fatally struck in the back and head. Armstead then reloaded his weapon and fatally turned it on himself, according to reports.
According to sources, Vanderheyden was unharmed. Outside the eatery, a puddle of blood could still be visible.
