According to the clerk’s office of the Stamford Superior Court, Aaron Ramsey of Wilton was sentenced to 50 years in the Whiting Forensic Facility by a three-judge panel for murdering his father.
In May 2012, Ramsey was charged with the murder of his father, Edward, in their Wilton home. Due to his insanity, he was judged not guilty.
According to Judge Richard Comerford’s finding in December, “the state has shown further than a possible suspicion that Mr. Ramsey caused the death of one Edward Ramsey.”
He was suffering from cognitive dissonance and command hallucinations at the time of his father’s murder. The defendant was in a severe psychotic state at the time.
Ramsey was also found not guilty because of insanity of third-degree burglary and third-degree theft.
He will serve his time in Middletown’s Whiting Forensic Facility.
